Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Nubi iPhone app (“the app”) and the website trynubi.com (“the website”) do with information about you. “Nubi”, “we” and “us” mean Van Nguyen Dang, an individual developer based in Vietnam and the developer of record for Nubi on the App Store.

1. The Nubi app

Sleep data stays on your device

To work, the app records things like when you tapped “Bedtime with Nubi”, when the alarm rang and was stopped, how many times you left the app during the night (“peeks”), your good-night streak and the pyjama outfits you have unlocked. All of this is stored only on your iPhone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

If you use iCloud or computer backups, this data may be included in your device backup. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple’s own privacy policy.

No account, no ads, no tracking

You don’t create an account. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking or data-collection SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your data.

Device features the app uses

• Alarms and notifications (Apple AlarmKit): to schedule and ring your alarm. Alarms are scheduled on your device.
• Motion sensors: only while the shake wake mission is on screen, to detect the shake. Motion data is not stored.
• Lock and app state: the app notices whether you locked the phone or switched to another app, in order to count peeks. It cannot see which app you opened or what you did there.

Purchases

Nubi Plus is bought through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, card or Apple ID details. The app only receives confirmation from Apple that your subscription is active, so it can unlock Plus features.

2. The website and the waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store:

• your email address,
• the language of the page you signed up on (English or Vietnamese),
• the link that brought you to the site, if it had a referral tag (for example a ?ref= code on a link we posted), and
• the date and time you signed up.

We use this only to email you when Nubi launches and, occasionally, about Nubi itself, and to understand which of our posts people found us through. You can ask us to delete your email at any time by writing to hello@trynubi.com, and every email we send will tell you how.

To stop spam, the sign-up form briefly counts requests per IP address. That counter is deleted automatically within about ten minutes and is never linked to your email.

The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. If you arrived through a referral link, your browser remembers that referral code in its local storage so a later sign-up can be attributed; it never leaves your browser except as part of a sign-up.

Service providers

• Cloudflare hosts the website and stores the waitlist. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
• Google Fonts and cdnjs (by Cloudflare) deliver the fonts and the animation library, so your browser connects to them when you load the page.

3. Children

Nubi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we will delete it.

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. Since the only personal information we hold is the waitlist entry, the quickest way is to email hello@trynubi.com. Data in the app is on your phone: deleting the app deletes it.

5. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, for example if the app ever started sending data off your device, we will say so clearly in the app before it happens.
